This handsome newborn boy did so amazing during his session!  This was a newborn lifestyle picture session in Marietta, GA.  It was captured in the comfort of this little guy’s new home.

 

Lifestyle newborn sessions are typically an un-posed baby session.  I have shot many of these sessions in client’s homes, some outside or at a park.  It all depends on the parent’s desires and of course the time of year.  The term lifestyle is open to interpretation.  I mostly shoot lifestyle sessions with natural light, but do sometimes bounce light off the ceiling to brighten certain rooms in a home.

During this type newborn session, I tend to do a few posed photos with parents and then a few candid style.   Candid shots still have guidance from me to give every client the best of themself.  Most photos are focused on the baby with a few parents, siblings, and hands or feet photos.  I offer an add on to the lifestyle session.  I call this add on a posed prop or basket.  This is where I bring a simple studio style setup with a prop.  I still use natural light close to a window.  I instruct the parents to follow the same instructions for every newborn session.  For the prop I pose the baby into a natural position that baby seems to want to go into.  By adding the prop the parent’s get a little bit of both styles of photos lifestyle and posed.  This session pictured did not include a prop, but I do have some on my blog.   Check this one out here: Lifestyle Newborn with Prop Added
