Family sessions are so much fun for me! I know they may not be the most fun for the family I am shooting. My Tall family session fits the needs of a lot of families that want photos to cherish, but want them done quickly. The Tall session is 20 minutes long, so it’s over before you realize.
Preparation is important when it comes to having a less stressful session. Also, knowing that I do this for a living & have seen it all from smiles to meltdowns. Snacks help with younger children or a planned treat after the session can be motivation. The biggest thing as anything is when it comes to young children is your energy as parents. Try to do things leading up to your session that make you happy as a mom and dad. I personally love music, so when I am getting ready I put some of my favorite tunes on and try to get into the zone. Yes, I still get interrupted but the music helps! Find what gets you into your Zen zone which will help the child/ren relax as well. As far as dads maybe a shot of whiskey upon arrival could help or if you don’t drink then maybe a nice run/walk the morning of your session. Last maybe just some deep breathing after you are dressed since waiting on everyone else to get ready is what you do every single time. I say all this in a joking manner because life with kids can be unpredictable. Whether you show up in your most relaxed manner or stressed to the max I will be there to walk you through every single pose or action. I hope that by the end of your session you will be having some fun and say that’s the best session..EVER!
This session is actually a mini session that I am sharing. It was shot at the beautiful Leita Thompson Park in Woodstock, GA. I love it when families bring their family dog. The only request I have is to bring an extra family member or friend to handle the dog as needed.
