ATLANTA ~ MARIETTA ~ EAST COBB, GA PHOTOGRAPHER MINI PHOTO SESSIONS

I am a photographer based outside of Atlanta, GA in the suburb of Marietta, GA.  It’s also an area known as East Cobb.

A request that is very common as an engagement,  maternity, newborn, infant, children and family photographer is ‘A MINI SESSION’

I hear this statement often:

“WHY CAN’T YOU JUST DO A MINI FOR MY FAMILY?”

A ‘Mini Session’ for clients is defined as a very short photo shoot length, minimal images anywhere from maybe 5-12 and cost effective for the client.  As a person looking to update your annual family photo on a budget it’s the most ideal for you!

From my side of a ‘Mini Session’ it is a session that can be very efficient and bring in decent money when booked back to back with other families.  It is not profitable to book a ‘Mini Session’ as a single booking.  The only exception to my rule is my ‘Newborn Mini’  those are just something that I have chosen to offer.

My ‘Newborn Mini’ is very specific in the photography style.  It is a simple session for me.  Will it make me a lot of money?  NO!  It is something that I have chosen to offer because I feel every new parent should be able to have beautiful photos of their baby on a budget that works for them.  I do offer a variety of Newborn Sessions but, they all are NOT minis.

 

Back to why a single “Mini Session’ is not profitable for me.  I am primarily a natural light photographer and  I rely on being outside.  There are only so many sunrises and sunsets (the prime time of day to shoot outside).  Then factor in rain dates and the actual amount of days I want to be shooting in a year.  Outside of shooting, I spend a lot of time on the computer doing edits, marketing etc.  If I take up a prime sunset time slot to shoot a single mini it’s not very profitable for my business.  It may seem the perfect fit for your family but, I do this for my family and it has to be a benefit to them too.  If I give that prime slot for a single mini by the time I travel to and from location the light isn’t where it needs to be (before or after the session) to have time to do another.

In order for ‘Mini Sessions’ to be worth my time I REALLY need to have at least 4 booked in a row or MORE.  I would love every day I shoot to be filled with minis.  How does this happen?  I need your help!  If you would like me to book your family for a single ‘Mini Session’ all you need to do is convince 3 other families do join you!

My business grows by word of mouth and mostly social media.  I am happy to create a ‘Mini Session’ for your family I just need it to work in my favor too!

The investment for my regular sessions at this time is set up as a win win for both you (my client) and me as your photographer.  You pay up front for my shooting time.  Each session has a different set time and amount.  This is based on my experience in shooting these sessions.  Some sessions can be done in 20 minutes and some take 60.  I will then give you a social media ‘First Look’ with your permission.  I will spend time hand editing and retouching the best image for your gallery of either 10-20 images.  You will view them and decide which ones you would like to purchase.  Every session has different pricing for the image purchasing because every session and image editing is not equal.  Some require more time, since I do each image individually by hand.

Oh I forgot to mention that ‘Mini Sessions’ are typically set throughout the year based on your wants.  Very popular sessions such as ‘Christmas Minis, Spring Minis, Cotton Minis’ I will choose the date, time and location.  I also choose how many images you get. I call these all inclusive.  As I said before what makes these profitable is booking them back to back.
